There is a lot of misunderstandings of what ABS is and what it does and more importantly, what it doesn't do. Let us discuss it with a listing of what I think are 3 facts and myths surrounding ABS and why it could save your life someday . ABS is Anti Brake-Locking System As the name implies, it prevents brake locks - the heart-stopping panicking moments of wheel locking up if we apply brake too suddenly. Brakes? Kinda are more important than the engine themselves. This can cause awesome skids which could be attractive if you are a stunt rider and are stunnting. Whereas, if you are trying to stop because you are riding head-on onto oncoming traffic; I have no clue why you would be; but that wouldn't spell good for you, so stopping the biking when you want it to stop is critical for riding. ABS is any system that prevents the wheel lock, by releasing the pressure on the brake disc, if it senses a wheel lock. This is done using motion sensors, which in turn

The Will of the Unwilling - Suicide Note of a Dying Breed?

The differences in the motorcycle brands are converging and it will only converge more onto a point of superposition.

Rewriting that and replacing "motorcycle brands" with "people", the differences in the people are converging and it will only converge more onto a point of superposition.

It is not very difficult to see that total convergence is bad irrespective of entity.

Michael Crichton, with all his wisdom, wrote that internet is a fall for the human kind. Because the thoughts and ideas that were isolated yielded aggressive and diverse progress. With the advent of internet, it has bought thoughts and ideas closer and they have stopped being unique. Ergo, the progress is linear and no longer diverse.

The same is happening to us right now. As people and as motorcycle brands. Do you support feminism or not? It has become black or white. There is no longer a grey area. Such polarized classification will only yield friends or enemies. It will stop being possible for friends to become enemies, and worse for people you used to not like, not grow to be friends anymore.

Is that new motorcycle that you purchased a classic or a modern motorcycle with a classic look? If it is all just aesthetic, then is it really a classic motorcycle anymore?

I got into motorcycling when there were carburetors, air cooled engines and wire accentuated brakes. The systems that could fail could be counted with your fingers and all I cared about is decent mileage for going on long rides. If anything brakes mid journey? I could MacGyver it!

Now before I take her out, I need to consider if she would like it, if she would get mad, what if she is hungry? Does she eat only from a particular restaurant? would she mind chilling under the stars without the battery giving way in the morning?

This is now a dying breed. Unwavering forward movement with least care for anything else but what is dear to us. The ability to be so has been yanked away from us with the advent of philosophical changes in what we perceive as comfort or progress.

A will is a piece of formal document drafted to specify the aftereffects of a passing. It can declare what must happen to material possession. It might seem superficial at first. But there is no denying that a will is written from the perspective of a person who has contemplated the fragility of life. It is a for-death note, that shows who are the people he/she cared for while contemplating death.

The industry doesn't have a will that explains what is cared for. The welfare of the consumers? People who believe that are a joke themselves. Brands do what must be done to benefit them, and consumers could benefit as a side effect. And nothing more.

I wish there was a well defined note that tells us that the old ways are not dying. That a pure breed of motorcycles unadulterated with bureaucratic red taped standards that strives just to be for the consumer isn't a mystical unicorn. As long as the consumers do not ask the right questions and only want kilometers per liter, this it not a possibility. And such a will can only be a suicide note for a brand. I hope that I live to see the day when some one with deep pockets decides to take the plunge. Because I will be there besides them, follow suite as well.

To describe the D390; it is a middle-weight, sub-500cc class, nimble and a costly girlfriend who can ensure that you have a great time as long as you know to control yourself ;)! without further ado, lets jump into the myths!
